bio
I have danced.
I have danced my whole life. In many different ways. With many different people. And in many different places.
I have learned what I love, and what I abhor. I have felt what is right for me on Tuesday may not be right for us on Saturday.
I no longer dance at my body, but with it. And this is not always easy because sometimes my body makes me angry. And that’s ok.
I make what I make because it brings me pleasure. I want to share this experience of pleasure so I make my work public. How the audience experiences my work matters deeply to me, but it does not dictate the flight of my imagination.
I am a collaborator. I choose to bring my imagination into the world by collaborating with others. And I cannot collaborate with others without being strongly influenced by others.
Pleasure, not perfection.
Rigor above comfort, comfort above abuse.
A body has a voice. A voice has a voice. Both should be used wisely. And wildly.
The mind has equal weight in value as the body. Both have value because they belong to you. And maybe they are you?
Curiosity as bravery.
Hope, try to have hope.
And never forget the pleasure.
